Willie's obituary
Willie Lee White was born June 2nd, 1953, from the loving union of Charles and Irene White of Mississippi.
Willie graduated from Beethoven elementary school and Dunbar Vocational High School in Chicago. In high school, he majored in welding and later accepted a football scholarship from Mississippi Valley State. Later, after finding the Mississippi heat exhausting, he returned to Chicago and enrolled at DeVry Institute of Technology, where he graduated with honors in 1975. Willie used that training within the telecommunications industry and chose employment at Illinois Bell in 1975. Eventually he was transferred to Largo, Florida where he was employed under numerous companies, all under the umbrella of AT&T.
During those years (1975 – 2006) he worked the night shift, which allowed him to pursue other interests such as procuring a FCC, and Real Estate license, and an H&R Block certification…all while honing his electrician skills. Willie was proud to have had only one day marked as absent during his 32 years of employment. Later in life, Willie moved back to Chicago and lived in Indiana for a period of time, before settling down in New Jersey.
While Willie was a wonderful provider, he recognized he had a spiritual need. As a result, he accepted a Bible Study from Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972. Three years later, he made the best and most important decision of his life, which was to symbolize his dedication to Jehovah God through water immersion. He progressed spiritually and was trained theocratically in various assignments, all which he diligently fulfilled in each congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses he attended. Willie shared all these experiences with the love of his life, Bernadine, who lovingly supported him from the first day they met. They married in 1975 and raised three children: one son Wellington (Kerry), two daughters, Bridgett and Sarhonda (Calvin), each a faithful servant of Jehovah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, WC Robinson. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years Bernadine, his three children, his beloved dear sister, Darlene (Johnny) Herron and his brother Charles Kenneth, along with a vast host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and loving friends.
