Willie's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we mark the passing of Willie Inman, Jr., who left this world on December 30, 2025. Born on May 24, 1948, in Patrick County, VA, Willie's life was characterized by dedication, love and hard work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Willie spent most of his life living in Kernersville and his final years at Bradford Village where he made many friends.
Willie was predeceased by his father, Willie Raymond Inman, Sr., his mother, Carrie Dunkley Inman, and his brothers Donald, James, Grady, Johnny and Cecil Inman. He is survived by his beloved sisters, Nancy Inez Bowman, Joann Conaway and host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Willie was a man of great compassion, faithfully caring for his parents in their final years. Such loyalty was representative of Willie’s overall approach to life. If you were a friend to Willie, you had a friend for life. For many years he could be found riding his bike through Kernersville until his health would no longer allow him to do so. He wore a smile and shared a laugh most of the time.
Willie was an excellent carpenter and handyman. He and his father, for many years, collaborated on building lawn furniture and porch swings - their signature work being the symbols of many family memories. Willie also lent his skills to his brothers, assisting in concrete work and vinyl siding. His work and craftsmanship were as durable and honest as the man himself.
Willie's life was a testament to the power of dedication, family loyalty, and the value of hard work. He will be remembered not just for his physical creations, but also for the love and commitment he showed to his family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 10 from 1 - 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle located at 330 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC by Rev. Ronnie Andrews.
