Willie "Pete"'s obituary

Willie "Pete" Royce Chambliss, lovingly known as Pete, passed away on June 2, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born on January 13, 1941, in Roaring Springs, Texas. He was raised and graduated from Matador, Texas, the place he called home.

Pete was a man of many passions, with most of them revolving around anything gun-related. He found great joy and fulfillment in pursuing his favorite hobbies.

In addition to his family, Pete was actively involved in the community, dedicating his time and efforts to 4H Shooting Sports. He held leadership roles and made significant contributions to this organization, leaving a lasting impact on the community he held dear.

Pete's proudest accomplishments and contributions were his daughters and grandchildren. He cherished his role as a father to Tonya Swim and Charity Lockridge, and as a grandfather to Kambraleigh Swim, Dylon Swim, Avan Daughrity, Nathaniel Daughrity, Ethan Daughrity, and Ashlynn Lockridge. They brought immense happiness and love into his life.

Pete was proceeded in death by his parents, Sam and Bea Chambliss, sister Charlotte Thurman, and wife Julia Chambliss.

He is survived by his sisters, Linda Tiffin of Plainview, Texas, and Carla Harp of Rogersville, Missouri. His 6 grandchildren, Kambraleigh Swim, Dylon Swim, Ethan Daughrity, and Ashlynn Lockridge, all of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Avan Daughrity and Nathaniel Daughrity, both of Lubbock Texas, and his daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Gregg Swim, and Charity and John Lockridge, all of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, as well as by many other relatives and close friends.

Willie "Pete" Royce Chambliss will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His family will gather together to celebrate his life. No other sevices will be scheduled.
