Obituary
Sis. Willie Bell Allen, age 90, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Friday
morning, August 2, 2019. She was born February 8, 1929, in Moundville, AL,
to the late Elbert, Sr. and Ida Francis Haley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Allen; one son, Ricky
R. Allen; four brothers, Albert E. Haley, Louis B. Haley, Carl C. Haley, and
Elbert Haley Jr.; two sisters, Louise Reese and Earleen Haley; and one son-inlaw, Lee A. Williams.
She graduated from Druid High School in Tuscaloosa, and attended Stillman
College. Sis. Allen was a faithful member of the Ensley Church of Christ for over
40 years, and was instrumental in bringing many souls to Christ. She enjoyed
singing and listening to gospel music. In fact, Sis. Allen sang and recorded songs
such as “I’m a Hard Fighting Soldier” with Bro. Robert Ivory Sr. and the family.
She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
Sis. Allen is survived by: her six daughters, Carolyn (Joseph) Waites, Linda (Jesse)
Johnson, Denise Williams, Jerolyn Allen, Regina (Roderick, Sr.) Pearson, and
Tracy (Eric) Chatman; one son, Reginald Allen; twelve grandchildren, Alexis
Pearson, April Allen, Beniquez (Derrick) Palmer, Brandi (D’Kwon) Cotton,
Brandon (Kennesha) Walton, Braxton Chatman, Braylon Chatman, Damien
(Rockell) Allen, Sr., Joey (Erica) Allen, Sr., Keri (Derrice) White, LaKechia
Waites, and Roderick (Tiffany) Pearson, Jr.; fourteen great-grandchildren,
Damien Allen, Jr., Gabrielle Outsey, Geovahn Cotton, Jackson Allen, Jacob
Palmer, Jamir Marable, Janiyah Allen, Jayden Allen, Joey Allen, Jr., Joy Allen,
Khamari Cotton, Khylar Cotton, Kristofer Williams, and Londyn Pearson. She
also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her.
