William's obituary
He started his career working in the mines as a big engine mechanic and then, after receiving a Diploma in Addictions Counselling, starting working at the Oaks Centre.
We remember him as a man who was a giver and always lending a helping hand to those in need. He was a man who loved to fish, play hockey and baseball. A drummer in his early days (pre- kids), he had a love for music and singing.
His children were blessed to grow up with an active and engaged father. From waking up early and driving them to swim practice to bundling them up in snow suits and taking us ice fishing.
William had a stroke many years ago, leaving him with a brain injury. Although cognitively impaired, he continued to love his family and light up when he was with them, especially his grandchildren, and grand-dogs.
Thank you to his wife, Brenda, who is a pillar of strength. She dedicated her life to caring for Bill over the past several years, refusing to give up, despite the complex care he required. He was blessed to have her by his side.
Memorial will be held September 18, 2021 in Elliot Lake Ontario. Details to follow.
