William Henry Vorndran, 84 of Gladstone, Missouri passed away peacefully May 6, 2025 at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri. He was born January 30, 1941 to Jerome and Kathryn (Miller) Vorndran in Fort Wayne, Indiana. William graduated from Ligonier High School in 1959. He served in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Florida, Japan and Alaska. He served from 1962-1966, and in 1968 granted an Honorable discharge from Naval Reserve. He worked at AT&T for 33 years as a Communications Technician. In his earlier years, he enjoyed taking care of and cruising with his 1972 Camaro that could be heard from a mile away. He enjoyed spending time with the family cats, most recently Smokey and Bandit. William enjoyed watching Westerns, Svengoolie, 24 hours of "A Christmas Story" each Christmas, and playing Video Games. He enjoyed going to 1st Thursdays at Kate’s Kitchen with all of the people who used to go to Hometown Buffet. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ethyl Marie Vorndran, and his wife, Ellen M. (Thomas) Vorndran. He is loved and remembered by his children, Shawn R. Vorndran of Gladstone, MO, and Deedra N. Vorndran, of Alexandria, KY. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7pm, Saturday, May 10th at Athens Church, 6601 NW 72nd Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64151. A Reception and time with family will follow service at: 8628 NE 115th Street, Kansas City, MO 64157.
