BILL's obituary

William Davis Storts, 76, of Seattle died at home on June 27, 2023 after a ten year battle with Alzheimer’s. A beloved family man and respected member of his community, he was born on February 3, 1947. Bill lived a life characterized by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to his faith and family.

Bill met his wife, Ginger, in the St. Alphonsus Church choir in Ballard where he grew up. Throughout their marriage they continued to participate in choral groups. Bill loved music. Bill's musical tastes ranged from Ray Charles to show tunes, but he also enjoyed regular attendance at the symphony, ballet and opera. Over the past decade he took great joy in participating in the All Present Song Circle for memory loss at the Greenwood Senior Center.

A dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Bill attended daily Mass while he was still able. To his friends and family, he was known for his daily study of the Bible. He put his faith into action by helping others and welcoming homeless teens into his home when they needed a place to stay.

He was friend of Bill W and a valued attendee at AA as well as the Washington Teamsters labor union. He loved the outdoors and could usually be found outside relaxing or doing yardwork. Bill loved to regale his sons with stories of his childhood as well as all the various jobs he’d had, especially of his years spent working as a switchman on the Milwaukee Railroad.

Staying active was important to Bill and he often to be found working out at the gym or playing tennis with his boys. He cherished family vacations with the opportunity to hike and go fishing as a family, and their road trips to California.

Bill was a passionate supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Lupus Foundation of America, dedicating his time and resources to these causes.

Bill's legacy is one of kindness and generosity, a testimony to his belief in caring for everything and everyone in creation. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia (Ginger) Storts, their four sons, Jason, Sean Davis, Stephen, and Gregory Storts, his sister, Roberta Dawson, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, William Thurman Storts, Jr., his mother, Peggy Storts, his sister, Susan Storts, his daughter, Michele Storts, and his niece and nephew, Meg and Colin  Gadler.

A funeral Mass in honor of Bill's life will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Please join us to remember and celebrate the life of this remarkable man.
