Billy's obituary

William "Billy" Stephens, 71, of Valley, AL, passed away on October 08, 2023.

 Billy was born on May 1, 1952 in Atlanta, Ga to Arene and William Stephens.  After graduating from Bass High School in 1970, Billy married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane Pannell and began a job as a Diesel Mechanic for Marta, kicking off a 32 year career where he was extremely beneficial as a Union Rep for many of those years. Billy always had a joke, a smile and a joyous love for his family and friends. We are going to miss our Hero tremendously!

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Brian P Stephens and his sister-in-law, Jeanette Barnes. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Pannell Stephens, sons Bill Stephens, Brad Stephens and his wife Cindy, daughter Mickie Bassett and her husband Rick, and daughter-in-law, Michele Stephens.  He is also survived by grandsons, Dakotah Veasley, Patrick Rhew, Brodie Stephens and Brycen Stephens, granddaughter Kaycee Landrum and her husband, Austin, great granddaughter Kamzie Landrum. He also leaves behind sisters Mary Gilbert and her husband, Larry,  Jo Ann Gordon and her husband, Bobby and brother-in-law Wayne Barnes. A celebration of life will by held Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 2 pm to 5 pm at Summer Grove Golf Club, 333 Summer Grove Pkwy, Newnan, Ga 30265.
