William's obituary
William Wynn Spooner, 62, passed away at home with his brother in Fremont, Nebraska on February 12, 2026.
Growing up in Holmdel, New Jersey, he attended Holmdel High School and graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI with a degree in the culinary arts. In his adult life, he lived in Sicklerville, Fair Haven, Keyport, and Aberdeen, New Jersey, spending most of his life in the Garden State. He was well known for his masterful skills at singing, playing the guitar, banjo, harmonica, and writing his own music. He loved having jam sessions with his family and friends, particularly with his children, who took up instruments of their own in his footsteps. He cherished time spent with those he loved, and everyone he knew has at least one story about him that makes them laugh.
He is survived by his three children, Daniel, Dylan, and Carolyn, his siblings Ronald and Suzi, and his mother Grace. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Nuçi's Space, a charitable organization that partners with his favorite band, the Drive By Truckers, to support musicians’ mental health.
