William's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Shoemaker Jr., who departed this world on February 29th, 2024. Born on January 10, 1946, William proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam war, achieving the rank of sergeant. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Bill and his wife, Joy Cox Shoemaker, settled in Orlando, Florida. Bill worked in the field of real estate sales and enjoyed golf with friends in his spare time. Longtime members of Conway United Methodist Church (now Conway Community Church), both Bill and Joy served the congregation by learning American Sign Language and using their skills to interpret church services for the hearing-impaired.

A memorial service had been postponed at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Hands & Voices, a parent-led nonprofit organization providing resources, peer support, and advocacy to families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, at https://www.flhv.org/donate">https://www.flhv.org/donate
