I met Ed at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, in 1973. He was transferred to Fort Sam Houston, TX, a few months later, and I followed shortly after. He was a good guy. While at Ft Sam he caught a scorpion and put it in a plastic box until it died. He then wrapped it up and sent it to his younger brother, who had never seen a scorpion before. Later, he was sent to Fort Sill, OK, and I was sent elsewhere. We kept in touch for a while, but lost touch. Whenever I think of my days at Ft Devens and Ft Sam Houston, Ed always stands out as one of the most positive people I knew in either place.
Rest in Peace, Ed.

Had so many good times with Ed and Phyllis back in the day. I stood up for Phyllis at their wedding and even spent the night with them. They always made me feel so welcomed in their home even living with them for awhile. Almost 50 years of memories that I cherish. You suffered for so long now it’s time to Rest in Peace.

Hard to believe my big brother Ed is gone. So many memories, mostly of when I was just a kid and later, when he would drive cross country to be there when Mom wasn't doing great, even we wasn't in top form himself. My brother was a caring, giving person. I will keep him alive through my memories, such as when he used blue food dye to make "Star Trek" grits. I'm going to miss sending him Civil War books that I would find for him.
