William S. Grant

January 13, 1945 - July 13, 2023

A native of Charleston, WV, William “Bill” Grant passed away on July 13, 2023 at 78. He was born on January 13, 1945 to Frances Grant.

Bill enlisted in the military at 17. As a member of the U.S. Navy, Bill explored the world. During his tenure, he served as a military police officer, navigator, and instructor.

Bill was a beloved father and grandfather. He leaves his daughters, Frances Fok (Adam) and June Jones (Michael); grandchildren, Vanessa Fok, Alex Fok, Jocelyn Jones, Jalon Jones, Laila Cober; his sister, Ann Hammond Vaughan; his brother, Leonard Vaughan; his cousins, Juan DaViess and Jerry DaViess; and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

As a navigator, Bill used the stars to chart his course, and now, we hope he will rest easy among them. He will be buried on Friday, July 21 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Charleston, WV. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 5 at Village of Faith, 111 Stuttaford Drive, Sandston, VA.
