William's obituary
He is survived by Bill, Jr., Russell and Catherine. He was predeceased by his wife Jean. There are no events planned, as he did not wish to have services. We are blessed that Dad wrote a comprehensive auto-biography when he was 83 that chronicled his life. He told stories of of his upbringing in Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee, living in a boarding house, his relatives, his time as a weatherman in the Army, his wonderful experience at Purdue University where he graduated with an engineering degree and was editor of the school newspaper and was responsible for many of the cartoons and art work. Dad continued his passion for art as a prolific and talented oil painter, many of his works now hang now in our homes. Always a Boilermaker, Dad followed Purdue sports until the very end and although he enjoyed watching the teams, he was (mostly) disappointed! Dad was an old-school engineer and salesman and remembered the many hand-shake deals and contracts on back of napkins at the lunch-time bar and grill. His company WC Industries was responsible for most of the HVAC systems in the redevelopment of downtown Stamford, CT. He was received a life time membership award and was awarded the status of Fellow in The American Society of Heating, Refrigerant and Air-conditioning Engeineers (ASHRAE)
