Bill's obituary
William (Bill) Cephais Reeves was born to Theofties and Laura Reeves on March 23, 1961, the third of five children.
Relationship-Driven
Matthew 22:37-39
First and foremost, his relationship with God was based on the knowledge that he was born of the Spirit into the family of Christ. He had every confidence that God walked with him and heard his prayers. Bill loved the Lord; on that, he never wavered. He also loved people. That is evidenced by how much he invested in his family and friends. During his time at Sterling Institute, he nurtured countless relationships facilitating weekend events and mentoring individuals.
Family-Oriented
Ephesians 6:2
Uncle Bill would travel hundreds of miles to attend sporting events, graduations, birthday celebrations, weddings, and reunions. His no-nonsense advice and expectation of excellence fueled his beloved nieces and nephews to reach higher heights. Bill often visited his parents offering unwavering support and loving kindness, and planning celebrations to honor his father and mother on several occasions. His family visits and planned family vacations provide the fondest family memories. His siblings will tell you, no one could delegate like Bill. His desire to provide an excellent experience often called for each of them to contribute from their strengths in a way that Bill could orchestrate like no other.
Spirit of Excellence
Proverbs 17:27
He received his degree in Chemistry from Rust College graduating Magna cum Laude. Bill pledged Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity in the fall of 1980 and was president of the lota Gamma chapter in his senior year, 1983. During his senior year, he was the Student Government Association President, President of the Greek Council, Treasurer of the Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, a member of the Science and Math Club, and Recognized as one of the Ten Most Influential Students. His sport of choice was golf. As a youth, he played Little League baseball and Pop Warner football. He lettered in golf at Inglewood High School. As an adult Bill kept a busy schedule but was aware that a fit body was key to accomplishing his goals so he managed a workout regimen and enjoyed physically challenging workouts.
