William's obituary

William “Bill” M. Peuse was born March 27, 1941 in Glendive, Montana to Desmond and Harriett Peuse. He passed away June 24, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona. Bill was the oldest of three children. He graduated in 1959 from Dawson County High School, Glendive, MT, and went right into the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, Bill then graduated from Montana State University in Billings. With a degree in Special Ed, Bill taught in Billings, Minneapolis, MN, and Glendive, MT, at Dawson County High School. In the fall of 1977 he moved to Columbia Falls, MT, and began teaching junior high while helping coach the football team. From Columbia Falls Bill moved to Washington State taking a drug and alcohol counseling position working with teens. He once said that was his most rewarding job. Bill became a friend of Bill W in 1978 and continued until he passed in 2024. He had been sober 46 years on June 8th. Bill made many friends while participating in meetings and group activities. Bill had retired after the counseling job in Washington and moved to Arizona living in Snowflake, Sierra Vista and Green Valley. Bill and Donna met in a meeting in Green Valley and it was love at first sight. They were married in 2010 and felt they had both found their true soul mate. They had much in common. At the top of the list was golfing. They also were very involved in Green Valley Recreation, swimming, going to the gym and playing pool. Bill played pinochle every Tuesday night with his GVR friends. Their two Shih Tzus, Tasha and Tigger, brought them much happiness and laughter completing their little family. Bill was known by his friends and neighbors as someone who would never pass up a chance to help them or make them laugh. His sense of humor lifted spirits whether you were a stranger on the street or a friend calling and hearing his ever famous greeting, "Murphy's Tavern". Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Desmond and Harriett Peuse and brother Mike Peuse. Surviving family members include wife, Donna; brother David (Linda) Peuse, Montana; sister-in-law Sheila Peuse (Mike), California; daughter Tara (Robert & Avery) Rosati, California; stepdaughter Rhonda Pearson, Arizona.

Celebration of Life to be held August 16th, 11:00 am at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Sierra Vista, with military honors to follow.  Avenidas Cremation & Burial in Tucson, AZ handling the arrangements.
