Wayne would go out of his way to help or advise anyone who needed help. There were always "cliques" at the several schools I worked at, and people usually stayed with their own group. Wayne was one of only two teachers I knew who didn't care what group a person ran with; he was always willing to give VALUABLE advice to anyone who needed it. I would talk with him sometimes at the library; he was a person whom I will miss! Mike Jackson
Remembering Wayne's important contributions to his community and specifically his work volunteering for Santa Maria Public Library's Board of Trustees from 1978 to 2014. His years of service volunteering in the children's area, serving as President of the Board, and fundraising for the new library building which opened in 2008. Wayne made a long lasting difference for the Santa Maria community and for the many children whom he recommended a good book to read.
First what comes to mind is Allan Hancock Nursery School where our family got to know Wayne & Claudia. Our 2 children were the same age as Lon & Aaron. Wayne & Lee became friends when the boys joined Indian guides. The creativity of the dads coming up with a craft to make with the boys was challenging. ( moms helped out a bit with snacks. ) Lots of happy memories! Rest in peace Wayne & join your beautiful wife. Lee & Gloria Jamieson
