Billy's obituary
Willie Edward Odom, Jr., age 70, passed away on April 23, 2025, in Natchez, Mississippi.
Born on July 28, 1954, Willie attended Council McCluer High School. He served his country in the United States Navy and later pursued theological studies at Reformed Theological Seminary before embarking on a long and dedicated career as a long-haul truck driver.
Willie’s life was grounded in faith and family. He is remembered by his wife, Rhonda Townsend Odom; his daughter, Bonnie Odom Yates (Eddie); his son, William Joseph Odom (Julie); as well as three step-children, Jake Pitts, Cassandra Pitts, and Crystal Pitts, as well as his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Edward Odom, Sr., and his mother, Clarice Cavin.
In moments of rest between life’s journeys, Willie found joy in watching sports—a pastime that brought him comfort and connection throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association in Willie’s memory.
Though he has departed this earthly life, we take comfort knowing that Willie now rests in eternal peace. May his memory be a source of strength and solace to all who loved him.
