William's obituary

William “Bill” Nunamaker was born on September 27, 1976 and passed on January 10, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family. His short life ended with a fight against brain cancer, a chapter of his life he faced with a level of courage and acceptance we can all aspire to. He chose a profession in education and coaching, and shared his talents and passions at Farragut Career Academy, Fenton High School, Plainfield East High School, and Oswego High School, in various teaching and administrative roles that he excelled in. He spent his youth playing soccer, a sport that he continued to enjoy into adulthood, and later developed deep interests in boxing and sumo wrestling. Bill was a graduate of Addison Trail High School, Northeastern Illinois University and North Central College. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed sketching, painting and block printing at local art leagues and studios. Bill had a caring heart and wanted the best for others; his unique sense of humor, creativity and authenticity stayed with him until the end and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Bill is survived by his wife, Michelle (Morris); his parents, Larry and Linda; sister, Sue, and mother and sisters-in-law (Morris/Mitchell/Andrekus/Sima) and their families, as well as his dog, Furley. A time of remembrance will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 125 West Church Street in Elmhurst from 9:00 – 1:30 with a service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association - https://www.abta.org/ or Harley Helping Hands - https://harleyhelpinghands.or… or the Art Institute of Chicago - www.artic.edu.
