Bill's obituary

William “Bill” Joseph McTigue of Smyrna, Georgia passed away peacefully in his home on May 18, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Bill was an easy-going and kind person who loved music, meditation, chess, and laughing with his friends and family.

Bill was born on July 16, 1952 to Beatrice Joan Wehner and Vincent William McTigue in Holyoke, Massachusetts.

Bill received his Bachelor of Arts in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of South Florida in 1977. He met his beloved wife Jackie in Tallahassee, Florida where they were married in 1991 and went on to have their daughter Kaitlin in 1995.

Bill worked for the state of Florida for over 30 years before moving to Atlanta and launching a successful second career in advanced medical coding.

Bill was known for his compassion and generosity towards others, and he cheered people up with his contagious laugh. He was always willing to help others when they were in need, and over the years he volunteered for and supported many organizations, including Hospice.

He was also a devoted member of the Self-Realization Fellowship Temple, and he loved to host Kirtan sessions in his home.

Bill was predeceased by his wife, Jackie McTigue. He is survived by his daughter Katie McTigue, sister Joan Fazzino, brother Paul McTigue, and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 24th at 4 PM at the Atlanta Center of Self-Realization Fellowship at 4000 King Springs Rd SE, Smyrna, GA.
