I have probably only seen Travis once in the past 20 years, but our group of friends from church was really tight in late elementary school & Jr High.
Travis was a natural leader who always had a vision for how things should be and for what ought to happen in any given situation. He was not one to "go with the flow". He was the flow, and would always push people around him to expand their thinking of what was possible.
Here are a few memories that stand out to me:
- Travis sneaking out to go to his Jr High School dance
- Travis making money selling Pokemon cards
- Listening to Creed, playing Zelda, eating grits at his house
- Bike riding all over his side of town
- Playing football, basketball, and skateboarding down crazy ramps (Travis was the craziest) with our group of friends at church picnics and birthday parties
- Being cabin mates at Jr Camp and harassing other campers with a dead snake (yes... we did this)
Travis will be missed, but not forgotten. My condolences to the McKissick family. You are in my prayers.

I'll never forget when he was 2 years old. I was babysitting him. Abe was just a baby. We were having lunch. I was only 13 and I made him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I cut it into fours for Travis. I went into the kitchen to get a paper towel. And when I came back, he was choking and I had to give him the Heimlich maneuver and I saved his life and I was 13 years old! I will never forget the impact that little boy had on my life for the rest of my life. I love this family. You 3 will always be my kids.❤️❤️❤️
