Billy's obituary
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the death of William "Billy" McCaslen who passed away on July 21, 2025. Born on June 22, 1954, Billy lived a life that was as vibrant and impactful as himself. He was a man who was best described as stubborn and proud, yet incredibly kind and thoughtful.
Billy leaves behind a legacy steeped in kindness and valuable life lessons. His greatest accomplishment was raising a wonderful daughter, Amber Garvizu, whom he loved dearly. He was filled with joy each time he added a new grandchild to the family, a joy he experienced five times between 1999 and 2014. In 2025, he was thrilled to welcome a great-grandchild.
Billy was predeceased by his beloved mother, Wilma Rountree, step-father Robert Rountree, and brother Owen Hurst. Their departures left him with a profound understanding of the fragility of life, leading to his often shared wisdom, "Life ain't fair and no one said it would ever be."
Beyond his immediate family, Billy is survived by his grandkids; Austin Shoemaker, Isabella McCaslen, Madisynn Edwards, Elizabeth Garvizu and Joselynn Garvizu, as well as a great grandson Jasper William Sanchez. He is also survived by his soon to be grandson-in-law, Justin Sanchez whom he greatly cared for. Each of them was a source of immense pride and joy to him.
