Bill's obituary
William (Bill) Charles McCall was called home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2025, in Salem, Oregon. Born on June 27, 1960, in Salem, Oregon, to Jeannie and Charles McCall, Bill was a beloved son and father. He made a lasting impact on everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bill graduated from Stayton High School in 1978. Upon graduation, he began his career with Roy Houck Construction, where he spent 17 years operating the asphalt plant and managing multiple highway paving projects across Oregon. In 1995, he joined Windsor Rock Products in Keizer, Oregon, a family-owned company that Bill led with pride and dedication for 24 years. When Windsor Rock Products was acquired by River Bend Materials in 2019, he joined River Bend to help guide a seamless merger, preserving valued client partnerships, supporting employees, and keeping business running smoothly. In recent years, drawing on nearly 50 years of experience in the construction industry, Bill leveraged his extensive knowledge and expertise as an independent consultant serving the aggregate industry.
Throughout his career, Bill was not only respected by coworkers and employees, but also by the wider community. He served as a board member of the Oregon Concrete and Paving Association (OCAPA) and Willamette Valley Bank, and gave generously of his time and resources to schools and nonprofits in the Salem–Keizer community.
On November 24, 1989, Bill married Kristin McCall. Together, they shared 29 years of marriage and were blessed with one child, Amanda. They continued to remain connected through the love of their daughter.
Bill was a man full of life, best known for his high energy and his gift for connecting with others. He had a natural ease in conversation and could make friends with whomever and wherever he went. Bill was someone who was always willing to help if a need arose. The familiar phrase among family and friends was, “Oh, just call Bill.”
Bill was always on the go, enjoying the activities he loved: fishing in Astoria Oregon or Baja, Mexico, golfing, snow skiing in Tahoe, Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor, water skiing and wake surfing out at Windsor or on Detroit Lake, duck hunting, cheering on the Portland Trail Blazers, Oregon State Beavers, and TCU Horned Frogs, or traveling. He created a fun and lively atmosphere wherever he went.
Bill will be remembered with love for his vibrant spirit, generosity, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda McCall, his mother, Jeannie McCall, and his brothers Tom and Don McCall.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Salem, Oregon, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m., preceded by the recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Following the service, internment will take place in a private ceremony with family.
Eternal rest grant unto Bill, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
