Bill's obituary

William MacAlister Kane Scott, 92, passed away on April 10, 2026, in Stuart, FL. Born on October 23, 1933, William, known as Bill to his friends, dedicated his life to service in his military and civilian pursuits.

After graduating from San Bernardino High School in 1952, Bill proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  Following his military service, he furthered his education at Thunderbird College in Mexico City, funded by the GI Bill.

In his civilian life, Bill was a devout member of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, where he actively participated in the community. His commitment to environmental preservation was evident through his involvement with the Audubon Society among other causes.

Bill's hobbies included building and flying remote control airplanes, a passion that brought him much joy and satisfaction. He was a beloved figure in his community and amongst his peers.

He leaves behind his wife of over 30 years, Elisabeth, his children, Valerie Bowers, John Scott, Sandi McCollough, and Chris Scott; step-daughter, Wendy Little; grandchildren, Elizah, Kaylee, Will, Sean, Courtney, Kirsty, and Jake; and great-grandchildren.

The family will honor Bill's last wishes by scattering his ashes at sea in a private ceremony. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his legacy will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.
