In Loving Memory of William "Bill" Huckabee

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Huckabee. Bill passed away on August 14th, 2023. He resided in Bremerton the last 30 years and was 70 years of age at the time of his passing.

Born in Gary, Indiana, Bill was the son of Hilda and Alvah Huckabee. He grew up in a loving family with two sisters (Margie and Melinda) and two brothers (Jim and Tom).

Bill's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his country. He proudly served in the United States Navy on Submarines for over two decades, demonstrating remarkable courage and resilience throughout his service.

After retiring from the Navy, Bill continued to serve his community through his work at WSTA for over two decades, where his professionalism and dedication left a lasting impact. Additionally, he was a passionate supporter of Coderdojo, sharing his knowledge and expertise to inspire the next generation of tech enthusiasts. Bill also spent time working with Olympic College, the local middle school, and highschool.

For the last 16 years he worked for the Navy, apart from 2 years working with the Peace Corps in Washington D.C.

Among his many roles, Bill's most treasured one was that of a father. As a single father, he raised his daughter Theresa with love, guidance, and unwavering support. Bill was also blessed with the joy of being a grandfather to Adelynn, a role he embraced with open arms, filling her life with warmth and love.

Bill Huckabee's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of service, love, and dedication will be cherished and remembered.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on September 23rd, 2023 at Sehmel Homestead Park - Volunteer Vern Pavilion.

May he rest in eternal peace.
