In the late 90's i was a young man with autism and bill was a member of my church, when he found out I was moving into a group home a few houses down from his he graciously invited me over and picked me up for church on sabbath morning and told me if I ever needed help he was right there and to come over anytime, bill was a true Christian gentlemen
Happy Birthday in Heaven Bill.  I know you are celebrating, probably playing your guitar.  We miss you.
Bill, I miss you so much.  Every time I see pickle ball, I think of you.  Every time I see a man playing a guitar, I think of you.  Every time we drive by the Candlelight Dinner Theatre, I think of you.  I have so many good memories and thankful that I have them.  You were one of the best mentors in my life.  I'm so glad we got to know Joan and hope that in the future, we will have many more memories with Joan.  Love and miss you!

The service you so lovingly crafted in celebration of your father’s life was beautiful. Not only did it reinforce what I already know about your father, but it showed me just how wonderful Adam, Adrienne, and Peter and the others who participated in the service are. It is through the grace of God that we are born into a family who show love to one another and others in such profound ways. You—the Haid family— are amazing. You will put the pieces back together, and in time, and it will be just as strong, but in different ways you recreate. My love goes out to all of you.
Here is the recording of the memorial service for Bill Haid Jr.

I didn't know Bill long, but …
I didn't know Bill long, but I knew him recently. I had the privilege of serving with him on the Board at cvprd. And I have the same story as those who knew him longer, who knew him better. He was an absolute gentleman. A Christian man.  A leader, a mentor, a man of real integrity. He loved golf and pickleball and influenced me to do the same! He impacted me, and I am better for knowing him. He is dearly missed.

My heart goes out to all of you on the loss of Bill.  He was a great man and I had the privilege of working with him at UCSD.  Not only was he a man of great integrity and a great leader, he was also just an all around nice, fun, human being whose warmth exuded from every pore.  He will be greatly missed, but know that he is watching over all of you. Cherish the wonderful memories you have of him.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Joan and family,

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bill. He was such a wonderful friend, a devout christian, and a role model to everyone who knew him. I will always remember our worship services at the Silverado Memory Care Center. He started the ministry of giving a worship service once a month to the residents, asking several other church members (including myself) to help out. He carefully crafted each service, uplifting the hearts of all who attended. I am honored that he asked me to be part of this endeavor. Bill is at peace now, but he will be missed by so many of us. We pray that God comforts all of you in this time of loss.~Phyllis and Saleem
We are so grateful to you Bill for being such a wonderful influence to Rachelle and the boys. You made a positive mark in their lives that will never be forgotten.
We feel honored knowing you and we will never forget you.
We hear beautiful guitar music playing afar and know you joined God's special band.

Bill was such a tender-hearted, kind-hearted man. He was so patient and gracious. I worked with him briefly at the senior center for CVPRD. He taught me how to drive the bus one day. My sincere condolences.

William, always a gentleman, participated in the MiraCosta Guitar Orchestra  while I was director.  He set a good example to the other members and maintained a friendly and helpful attitude.   He kindly kept in touch for many years afterwards. He will be missed.

As I look back on my life there are very few who have had as large a positive influence on me. Bill was one of a kind. May he rest in peace.

I am sorry to learn of Bill’s passing, but understand that he did his best in the face of his illness. Deep sympathy to his close friends and family. Bill was an outstanding professional and colleague and of personal help to me along the way. My fun memory of Bill is of him costumed as Abe Lincoln. Rest in Peace. Christine Kerlin

Bill was an inspiring leader and an incredible boss. He was patient, kind, understanding, and tried to lead with an authentic, human first approach. He was a great friend even after I stopped working for him. He will be truly missed.
We will never forget the wonderful times we had with Bill and Joan. Bill added to our lives with his wonderful Bible studies, leading out in church services at the Silverado Memory Center, attending the guitar concerts he played in and all of the times we went out to eat. He was a man of God in all that he did. He treated everyone with love, respect and kindness. He was devoted to his family. He will be missed but never forgotten.
