William's obituary
William S. Goodwin Jr., a loving husband and father specialized in medical sales and respiratory therapy died peacefully on February 12, 2026 while holding his wife's hand at the age of 75.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Strewler; his child, William Goodwin, lll; and his two brothers; Michael Goodwin and Roger Goodwin. He is predeceased in death by his parents, William Goodwin, Sr. and Marian Reed Goodwin and his brother, Scott Goodwin.
Bill was born in Poteau, OK on November 1, 1950 to William Goodwin, Sr. and Marian Reed. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree as a respiratory therapist. His first job out of college was with the Public Health Service in Alaska where he remained for 18 years. He moved back to the lower 48 when he obtained a medical sales manager position with Abby Medical. He moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado when he met his wife and he married Barbara Strewler on October 31,1991.
Before retiring, Bill wanted to live in a warm humid climate, moved to Florida with his wife. They eventually ended up in a lovely 55 Plus community where he had many friends and activities. He loved to travel both domestically and internationally. Bill was a bold, funny, at times outrageous extrovert who never met a stranger. His wife, Barbara, lived vicariously through Bill, and has been forever changed by his spirit, support and love. Bill was dearly loved by many friends and family and loved them back.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Cherokee Municipal Cemetery at Cherokee, Oklahoma on S. Grand. Brother Tom Cooksey a long time family friend will officiate. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
