William was fiercely passionate about Auto mechanics/ Engineering from the start and dedicated his life to both his pursuit in his career in Automotive and his family.

 William met his wife Patricia Ann Stubbs- Gilchrist in 1971 and Married in June of 1973, and went on to have five children.

 William put family first, always an was a dedicated father. His children went on to pursue careers in, the United States Marine Corp., Commercial Transportation, Automotive & Business management, CPC an CNA. 

William was a strong, kind, loving, supportive father. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family. William was passionate an enthusiastic about life & family. 

William was predeceased by ; Theresa Lashuan Gilchrist (Daughter), Vera Jones (sister), Alice Gore-Battle Gilchrist (Mother), Dy’rae Battle Shepard (Nephew), Morris Mabry (Step Father), Thomas “Snook” Gilchrist (Nephew), and Marcella Gilchrist (Sister).

William is Survived by his wife Patricia Ann Stubbs-Gilchrist of Jacksonville, NC, His children; William Lee Gilchrist Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD , Rondell Lee Gilchrist of Jacksonville, NC, Patricia L. Gilchrist-Miles of Hubert, NC, and Kevin Gilchrist of Jacksonville, NC. His siblings; Deborah Gilchrist of Jacksonville, NC, Recardo Gilchrist of Jacksonville, NC, and Morris Gilchrist of New Jersey. His Grandchildren; Tiana, Ariana, Destini, Isaiah, Adrian, Malia, Jaida, Jonah, and Elias. And a host of Aunt’s , Uncle’s, nieces and nephews.
