Bill's obituary
William Francis Kinney, known affectionately as Bill, passed away on July 9, 2024, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 68. Born on May 21, 1956, in Bethpage, NY, Bill was a man of many talents and achievements.
Bill was a master carpenter and builder, a vocation that showcased his meticulous craftsmanship and creativity. His skills were not only evident in the structures he built but also in the numerous carpentry projects he undertook, which brought comfort and beauty into the lives of those around him. In addition to his hands-on skills, Bill was also a published author, sharing his knowledge and passion of the Bible with a wider audience. His love for music further colored his life, bringing joy not only to himself but to all who listened.
He attended General Douglas MacArthur Senior High School, where he first discovered his love for building and design, a passion that would shape his entire career.
Bill is survived by a loving family: his wife, Margaret Kinney; son, Daniel Kinney; daughter, Sarah Valdes; grandsons, Ethan Kinney and Ayden and Alex Valdes; and sisters, Diane Hendry and Colleen Shelnutt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Margaret Kinney, and his son Christopher Kinney.
A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at a future date. His legacy of craftsmanship, literature, and melody will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and through the works he has left behind. Bill will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, dedicated grandfather and talented artisan, who life was as rich and profound as the works he crafted.
