Bill Wilkinson & the Long Island "Sound" Swing Band perform Stardreams on June 21, 2013
About fifteen years ago I was approached by Bill while at the Wheatley Hills Golf Club. He suggested I join his Long Island Sound Swing Band as vocalist. I was the benefactor. We not only enjoyed making music together but more importantly it resulted in a wonderful friendship. We enjoyed many interesting lunches where Bill discussed his life adventures. They were interesting and of course humorous. We agreed to end our musical endeavors together.COVID interrupted and his passing ended our agreement. I miss Bill but my memories continue to warm my heart. I know he'll playing his trumpet wherever he is and I'll be pleased.

Rest In Peace Bill.  I’m guessing you now won’t have to worry about finding a girlfriend that can drive at night!  😃

I’ve missed him since he’s left Home Depot.  91! Bravo!   He lived a full life.  I’ve missed His caring  greetings each day, his stories, and his music.  Yes, for a time  Bill would often  bring a few of his friends to  play at Store 1222 truly livening up the day  and taking the work out of work,  bringing pleasure to the hearts of everyone. Godspeed Bill!  As you see, your kind heart, stories and music touched many at 1222.

I will miss him. My condolences to all his family and friends . I am greatful to bill as I got to hear stories of a grandfather I never knew . Filling me in making me laugh. A gentleman  respectful. Brilliant brave and more. Thanks Bill . God bless prayers and I am sorry.  Respectfully,

Joan Leogrande

I am so sorry to hear about Bill.  He was such a nice man and always had great stories to tell. Those of us that had the pleasure to work with him at Home Depot will greatly miss him.  My sincere condolences to his family and friends. 💙🙏🙏💙💐

My husband Rob and I both played in Bill’s band during the early ‘90s.  Not only did we get to make good music with him but everyone knew him as a great guy with wonderful stories.  It was a pleasure reconnecting with him at his birthday in the Deer Park Lodge and for the last year and a half I got the chance to share the gigs with Michele!!  Right up until Bill was no longer well enough to play he made the audiences happy and everyone loved him!!   Rest In Peace, Bill.  You will be missed by all! 💜Bobbie Ruth

My mom’s birthday with her fr…
My mom’s birthday with her friends. Bill and his crazy socks gets the ladies cracking up 🤣
I played in Bill’s band over 15years and he used to tell jokes in between songs….many times I heard the same joke several times. Once he was telling a joke on the bandstand during a performance and I gave away the punchline. Bill was so angry that he threatened to throw me out of the band. I did apologize and promised never to do it again but it remained a sore topic with us for a long time but I used to give him charts for his band (for free) so he had motivation to forgive me.
