William Edward Eslinger 1943-2025

William Edward Eslinger passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 16th 2025, after an illness.

William, known as Bill to his family and friends, was born in Oakland, California on June 10, 1943, where he lived until he moved to Rio Vista California in 1959. He graduated from Rio Vista High School in June of 1961.

Bill enlisted in the Navy in July of 1961 and was assigned to active duty on the USS Ranger in June 1964. The USS Ranger was positioned in the Western Pacific until there was a fire on the ship in March 1965 when it returned to Alameda Naval Air Station. Bill spent the rest of his enlistment in the Naval Reserve until his honorable discharge in July 1967.

After his discharge, Bill had various jobs including at an MJB Coffee distributor in Oakland, Ca. During his free time, he traveled the U.S, Canada, and Mexico in a Volkswagen Bus with his good friend, Gary Marcos. Bill also enjoyed fishing with his father, Ewaldt.

He started his own trucking company, Eslinger & Son Trucking, which he owned and operated until 2023.

Bill’s love, wisdom and steady presence shaped his family’s lives forever. He was a great father in every way that mattered. Family is made of love, and he gave that in abundance.

Bill is survived by his sister, Kathleen Crone; his wife, Kashmiro, his daughters,

Sunita Klair (Surjit), FNU Rajni (Davindarjit Singh); his son, Ashok Kumar (Priya Bali); 4 grandchildren; a niece and 2 nephews; a great niece and 5 great nephews, and a great, great nephew.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10am at Diablo Valley Funeral Home, 1390 Monument Blvd. Concord, CA 94520
