Fred was a lovely colleague during the pandemic. He brought cheer and calm pleasantness to the workplace. It was enjoyable to hear some of his life experiences. Wishing your family the best at this time.
Jane and family we don't know each other, but Fred I knew. We worked alongside each other during the pandemic. I knew Fred as a quiet and sensitive person who was very caring and loved being part of the Calvert County Health Department's efforts to first test people and then later vaccinate them for COVID. We spoke about his last name and whether we could possibly be distantly related, as I have family in Virginia whose last name is Ervine. We decided probably not, but who knows far enough back. He asked me very politely but personally what my pronouns are and we had a significant conversation about that. And finally I loved his sense of humor wearing his red shoes and shorts to work. I was glad to know him just a little while and am very sorry for your loss. Bless you and peace be with you.
I met and worked with Fred for 2 years at the Calvert County Maryland Health Department COVID vaccine drive-through, then at the Fox Run indoor facility. He was so good with everyone that came in, including the smallest child. He also entertained us with his many incredible life stories! We will miss him.
I'll miss Fred. We had many adventures together. At least 1 rock festival and hepatitis, amongst many other things. He was a life long friend. We even lived next door to each other as kids. His mom was our mom too. I had the whippens to prove it. RIP my friend.
