William's obituary

William “Bill” Allen Dunlop passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at HonorHealth Deer Valley Hospital. He was born in Warren, Michigan on April 16, 1971; son of William Allen and Margaret Lucille (nee Garrison) Dunlop. Bill is a 1989 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School. He started college at Western Michigan University; however, he completed his bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in call center management at the University of Phoenix in 2006. Bill spent a total of 14 years at Chase Bank in Troy, MI from 2000 until he transferred to Phoenix, AZ in 2009. In 2014, he expanded his resume to include other employers as a Learning and Development Coordinator / Manager until 2025. Bill was known for his cheerful disposition and great smile. He always brought good conversations to the table making all feel welcome. Bill served as the Charter Organization Representative for Troops 323 & 3323 since 2019 and also held the same position with Pack 323 for about a decade. In November 2025 he received an Eagle Mentor pin from Eagle Scout Lucas Whitesell for his long-standing mentorship. Bill was an avid reader who enjoyed camping, 5k’s, Arizona Diamondback games, Lion’s games, hosting guests in his home and showing them all there is to see and do in Arizona. Bill was committed to his sons, leading them as Boy Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher and teaching them about their Scottish heritage. Bill also enjoyed coming home to Michigan to enjoy a game of cards and a wee dram with a group of his lifelong friends from high school. Bill’s greatest love in life was his family and friends. Bill is survived by his beloved Kirstin and their sons, William “Liam,” Quinn and Reed, his mother Margaret “Peg,” his sister Janet (Eric) McAllister. Bill is predeceased by his father William, his brothers, James and Steven Kennealy and sister Stacy Dunlop. He adored his nephews Eddie (Mackenzie), Gruczelak, Jr., Adam (Megan) Goodsell, Paul (Maddie) Marvin, James (Riley) McAllister, Jonathan McAllister, and niece Caitlin Dunlop, as well as his great-niece Elouise Gruczelak. Memorial services will be held in Arizona on January 17 with 10 a.m. MST family visitation followed by 11 a.m. MST service at All Saints Lutheran Church at 15649 N. 7th St. Memorial Services held in Michigan on January 24 at 11 a.m. EST at Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church 11451 E 10 Mile Rd., Warren, MI 48089 where Pastor Nancy Bass will officiate. Lunch and visitation following services at the church.
