William's obituary
William Renard Davis Raleigh Jr. began his life's journey on March 6, 2004, in Maplewood, Minnesota with his birth parents, William Renard Raleigh Sr. and Tonya Johnson. His uncle and aunt, Kirk and Michele Davis, adopted and absorbed William along with his brother Omarion into their family of six two months after William's birth.
William attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Mesa, AZ, where he was baptized.
He attended high school at West Education Center in Minnetonka, MN. He recently worked as a security officer for Maplewood Mall and had an internship as a videographer.
William was a handsome, vibrant young man with a pleasing personality. William was a gifted musician. He played the piano and drums by ear. William was a talented rapper and an engaging storyteller too--often sparking contagious laughter among his listeners. William enjoyed football and played it year-round in Phoenix. William regarded his elders, befriended strangers, treated his friends as family, and celebrated his family as his most prized gifts.
The combination of William's personality, talents, and loving heart made William a source of joy for his family, friends, and a local celebrity in Phoenix, AZ.
William died July 25, 2023, at age 19. He will be missed.
William leaves to mourn his parents, Kirk and Michele Davis; his birth parents, William Renard Raleigh Sr. and Tonya Johnson, two sisters, Aleesea Anderson and Israea Anderson, three brothers, Sterling Miller, and Israel Anderson, and Omarion Davis-Raleigh, cousin-siblings, Yasmin Davis, Kirnehsa Davis, Rashaan Davis, and Najma Davis. Williams's forever village also includes his significant other Shakira Willis, Antwan Flowers, and family, Alarice and Kevin Brown, the Dodds, the Mckinley Family (Jarrod & Rashad), and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His grandmothers, Bobbie Gant, and Rita Wagner, preceded him in death.
