Willie's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William "Willie" Croom, who departed this life on June 22, 2025. Born on Jan 2, 1952, Willie was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and unfailing support to those fortunate enough to know him.

His spirit was characterized by a quiet humility, a contagious enthusiasm for life, and a steadfast commitment to his family and career.

Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Donna Buell Croom. Their life was graced by the presence of three wonderful daughters, Cyndi (Chuck) Stutts, Kathy Brown and Sherry (Daryl) Aldrich, six grandchildren - Adriana, Justin, Jonathan, Brianna, DJ, and Caleb - and two great grandchildren - Damien and Ellyana. They shared countless moments of laughter, tears, and above everything, unwavering love. His daughters will continue to remember their father's enduring love, his wisdom, and his incredible resilience in their hearts forever.

His professional journey was marked by a career at the St John’s Fire District, where he dutifully served his community until his retirement in 2017. His colleagues remember him as a hard-working, dedicated, and trustworthy professional. The impact of his work and his contribution to his community continue to resonate, even after his retirement.

Willie’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memories will continue to comfort all those mourning his loss. Even though he is no longer physically with us, his influence will be eternally present in numerous lives he touched. Rest in peace, Willie . Your departure is a reminder that good souls exist among us and that life is a precious gift to be cherished.
