Great husband, father and grandfather. To me he was a great friend. We laughed together many times. Our shared mechanical intreats gave me a deeper understanding of the troubleshooting process. This world is less in every recess he improved. I look forward to seeing you again my friend.
November 2019 Daddy drove from Charleston to San Antonio with Daryl, the kids, and I when we moved to Texas. He stayed with us for about 11 days. We had a blast driving all over trying to figure what part of town we wanted to live in. He knew how nervous I was moving so far away from everyone and everything I knew. We made so many memories with him that trip.
I remember when I was going through a separation with my now ex-husband. My oldest daughter, 3 at the time, wanted 2 things for Christmas- a white Christmas tree with candy canes and to talk to Santa Claus on the phone. I called up my Uncle Willie and he said he would be honored. That night, my oldest daughter was able to call Santa Claus and they talked for a good while. She went to bed with the biggest smile on her face and, through a difficult time for me, Willie was able to bring us both warmth and love that remains with me to this day.
