Billy's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of William "Billy" Spence, who departed from this life on February 22, 2024. Known lovingly as Billy, he was born on March 29, 1958 and lived a life that was full of wit, kindness, and generosity.
Billy is joyfully remembered by his daughter, Jessica Carter and son Josh Spence. His love and teachings live on in his cherished grandchildren; Trey, Kendal, Keanan, Elliana, Maison, Aubrey, and Addison. He leaves behind a legacy of love to his siblings, Sue Close, Steve Spence, Mike Spence, Kathy Poole, and Patty Thomas.
He now joins his parents William Spence Sr. and Helen Spence, along with his brothers Jack and Doug Spence, son Clyde Spence, and ex-wife Janice Wisnoski in heaven.
Billy's full and vibrant life was marked by his marriage to Janice Wisnoski in 1980 and his love for simple pleasures such as popcorn, donuts, sugar daddys, and root beer. Many will remember the fun-loving man at the grill, BBQing with his family. He believed in staying active, often walking and swimming.
Beyond his witty and fun-loving personality, Billy was also a patient teacher. He shared many life skills with those around him, coaching others in swimming, his trade, riding a bike, writing in cursive, and cooking.
A Celebration of life will be held on May 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Tomoka State Park, to honor and remember the generous and caring man that Billy was.
