Well, there was this other half of me, at some point in time, that needed another half and voila!

From my Dad, I learned to value the time I have with my family. As a child, we would go to the drive in theater, to Grass Lake in the summers and we always had neighborhood kids over. I remember playing in the pool in that backyard with my parents. Jumping off their knees. "Santa" always had us climbing up to the windows while our eyes would pierce the night sky waiting and hoping that we would catch him or see him flying overhead with his reindeer. That was a special kind of magic we got to believe in, even if only for a moment in time. My dad would often spend time in the garage with friends working on cars. As a parent now, I think it was his escape 😉 but we always knew where to find him. As a small child, my dad was a Titan! From a small child and through my teens, I looked up to my dad. I wanted to be like him, a Marine. I wanted to mirror the parenting that he began when my folks were still together. I wanted to be that parent that took their kids to do things and enjoy outings. Even in my adult years, my dad made time to be with us. He lived on the North Side of Chicago and would make his way to see my children and I. Thank you dad for loving us.
