William's obituary

William Brooks Sr, 78, of Hiram GA, passed away on 10/21/2021. William was born on May 14, 1943, to McKinley and Francis Brooks in Drew Mississippi.

After graduating from high school, he began his long and sundry work journey. He worked at marquee organizations such as Sargent Aerospace & Defense, Coca-Cola and the Boston Philharmonic. Later in his life he pursed his dream of becoming an entrepreneur and started multiple ventures. He rounded out his career as an author, authoring books of poems and motivational empowerment.

In 1979 he met Ranetta, and they wed in 1980 going on to have 6 children. William was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was very proud of his children and always tried his best to support them. Anyone who knew William knew that he was passionate about his community and the youth in it. He could often be found using his passion for activism at local community and school board meetings.

He is survived by his wife Ranetta, his children Osa "Shanesha", William Jr. Keith, Marcus, Aaron and Matthias, 23 grand-children and 1 great-grandchild.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Ranetta Brooks at 5606 Wendy Bagwell Parkway #4307 Hiram, GA 30141.

There will be a funeral repast at 1:30PM EST on 10/30/2021 at 1166 Wedgefield Dr SW Marietta, GA 30064.
