William E. Bowers, Jr., of Locust Grove, VA passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2022. Born on December 1, 1950, in Chestertown, MD he was the son of the late William E. and Emily Bowers. Mr. Bowers grew up around the Chestertown and Rock Hall, MD area, where he loved to fish, crab and be out on the water.

He was proud to be a Vietnam Vet serving in the United States Army. Besides being a proud Vietnam Vet, Mr. Bowers enjoyed spending time with his family, loved the outdoors and Black Friday Shopping.

Mr. Bowers is survived by his wife of 52 years Patricia Townsend Bowers, a son Billy Bowers and (Nina), a daughter Melissa Knee and (Scott), five grandchildren Brooke Bowers, Mikayla Bowers, Hannah Knee, Vanessa Knee, and Hunter Bagby, two great granddaughters Bryleigh Rae Bowers, Bristol Lyn Bowers and their mom Cheyenne Heflin, all of Virginia, two brothers Paul Bowers and (late Nancy Bowers) of Harrington DE, Harvey Bowers and (Dawn) of Chestertown, MD two sisters Nancy Bowers of Midland, TX and Wendy Hutchinson and (Wayne) of Hartly DE, along with numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in laws and sister-in laws and his sidekick Fusty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two grandsons Dustin Bowers and Tanner Knee, brothers Jimmy “Jellybean” Bowers and Bobby Bowers, his paternal grandparents Lester and Reba Bowers, and maternal grandparents Harvey and Carrie Kendall.

Services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home located in Locust Grove, VA on Thursday, Nov. 10th, 2022

A family viewing begins at 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by services from 11:30am to 12:15pm. Then the procession will travel to Culpeper National Cemetery for a graveside service with full military honors.
