He has been a staple all my life, I grew up with him having married my first Cousin Patty. Every event, holiday or summer at Uncle Alvin and Aunt Joan’s he was a fixture and my mother Vera Ann Townsend loved him- as did I.
What my memories are of him were that ‘Bill Bill’ ( as my mom referred to him as) was Bill was- funny, fierce in his own way, loving- give big bear hugs, kind, sweet in his nature, and dear hearted.
He was a proud and big supporter when I joined the Air Force and served during Desert Storm. May the Wind uplift your wings for easy flight . XOXOXO
There will be a void in all our hearts but you have joined Mom , all their siblings and other family members in Gods special place Our Heavenly home. Though you may be physically gone you will never be far from our thoughts and forever in our hearts . We will remember you always in moments that captured our hearts and you will send Us gentle reminders you are with us.
Watch over Us Bill and give our love to Everyone.
I missed getting to say I Love you but I hope in your heart you already knew. Peace Xoxox

Bill always had a sly or off handed joke, that I also found funny as I too have a sick sense of humor. We both laughed a lot, we flicked each other off and messed with each other all the time. He was definitely a great father-in-law, he made me feel at home, even when he was ornery. I loved hearing him say " Hey Nina, come here - I've got another CD", we both love country music, especially Alan Jackson and Blake Shelton. Even in his last days I kissed my middle finger and told him I loved him....then he smiled and tried to lift his hand and stuck his middle finger out. It was a moment I won't forget, and unless you were there you might find it odd. But it was our thing. I will miss his stories, jokes and jabs. Bill and Patricia would go with us on rides into the mountains or just around town, that's what he liked doing....going nowhere as we called it. I wish we could get into the car now and go. I miss you, its too quiet without you.
