William's obituary
William “Bill” Hook Sr. passed peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on September 22, 2024 at the age 91.
He was born to Easter Joseph Hook and Florence M. Hook on April 07, 1933 in Camden, NJ. It was there where he met the love of his life, Florence A. Hook . They were married for 72 years and went on to have four children, Rita, Lynn, Billy and Cheryl. Bill served as a Seaman in the US Navy on the USS Tanner AGS-15 surveying ship. He moved his family to Florida in 1972 and opened a dry cleaning businesses, Crosstown Cleaners, in Jupiter, Florida.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father/grandpop/great grandpop, Bill also loved gardening, spending time with family, playing cards and reading his bible. He was saved by Jesus later in life, and held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
William now joins his parents, Easter Joseph Hook and Florence M. Hook, his sister, Doris Hook Veach, his son, William R. Hook Jr, his grandson, Eric J. Sonberg and two of his dearest friends who were like brothers to him, Harry Houston and Jack Coombs in Heaven.
William R. Hook Sr. is survived by the love of his life, Florence M. Hook, his three daughters, Rita Sonberg (Bob), Debra Lynn Jones (Les), and Cheryl Daymon (Dennis), his friend John Hanlon, four granddaughters, Melissa McCrickard, Amanda Jones, Krystal Hook Cedeno and Jonyl Cassone, five grandsons, Craig Sonberg, Byron Jones, Joshua, Zachary and Julian Daymon and twelve great-grandchildren!
A memorial service is planned in his honor at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, 950 SE Monterey Rd., Stuart, Florida on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Westside Church, 3361 S. Jenkins Rd, Ft Pierce, Florida 34981.
