Bill's obituary

In Loving Memory of William “Bill” Barkley Hopkins

June 29, 1969 – October 4, 2025

William “Bill” Barkley Hopkins, 56, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed peacefully on October 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Bill was known for his big heart, his quick wit, and his unwavering loyalty to the people and things he loved most — his family, his friends, the Philadelphia Eagles, and a good day out on the water. A former semi-pro baseball player, Bill’s love for the game never faded, and he carried that same dedication and team spirit into every part of his life.

He had a soft spot for animals, a deep love for fishing (especially adventures in Alaska), and a way of making everyone around him feel protected and cared for. Bill had a sharp sense of humor and an ability to make people laugh even on their hardest days.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Dudash, and Joey Dudash, his fiancée, Mary Jane Ward; his brother, Lawrence Hopkins, and sister-in-law, Alicia Hopkins; Niece, Samantha Hopkins; and his stepdaughters, Paige and Devyn Ward. He is also survived by several close family members and step-siblings who loved him dearly.

Bill will be remembered for the laughter he brought, the love he gave, and the strength and warmth he shared so freely. His legacy lives on in the stories, memories, and love he leaves behind.
