William "Bill" A. O'Brien, aged 71, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, in Matamoras, Pennsylvania. Born on August 2, 1953, in Tipperary, Ireland, Bill was raised in Oxford, England, from the age of five. At thirty, he moved to New Jersey, where he built a successful career as a General Contractor in Essex County, dedicating over three decades to his craft.
Bill's life was a testament to his love for family, the great outdoors, and the joy of camaraderie. He was a beloved father to his daughters, Louise Donohue and Danielle O'Brien-Burgos, and their husbands, Colin and Eric. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Demi, Coan, Oisin, Clover, and Ruairi, who brought immense joy to his life.
In his later years, Bill fulfilled a lifelong dream by settling in his idyllic home on Crescent Lake in Milford, Pennsylvania. Here, he indulged in his passions for fishing and playing poker, often surrounded by friends and family, sharing in "the craic," an Irish expression for good times and laughter.
Bill is survived by his beloved sisters, Kathleen, Mary, and Bernadette, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Julia O'Brien, his sister, Norah Dufficy, and his brother, John O'Brien.
Bill O'Brien's life was marked by warmth, laughter, and a good joke with those he loved. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love and fond memories. May he rest in peace.
His funeral service will be held at Saint Denis Roman Catholic Church in Manasquan, NJ, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
