Willard's obituary

Willard "Roddy" Paul Roderick passed away on August 20, 2024, in Tomball, TX, at the age of 68. Born on January 15, 1956, in Houston, TX, he was a beloved figure in his community and a cherished family man.

Roddy dedicated his life to bringing joy and assistance to those around him. Known for his jolly demeanor and ever-present smile, he cherished the role of playing Santa Claus, delighting children and families during the Christmas season. His generosity was boundless, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. Roddy was an avid cook, celebrated within the BBQ and Chili cook team community for his award-winning chili.

Professionally, Roddy was a committed truck driver and the proud founder of Roderick Trucking Inc., a company he started about 28 years ago. His legacy in the trucking industry is set to continue through his son, Brian.

Roddy was a devoted member of the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Montgomery, TX. His hobbies included cooking, participating in BBQ and Chili Cook-Offs, and working on classic cars. One of his notable restorations was a '55 Chevy. He enjoyed supporting his wife, Terri, in all her trail rides, working closely with her in life's adventures.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Terri Roderick; sons, Daniel Roderick, and Brian Roderick and daughter-in-law Ana Roderick; and granddaughter, Kayle Roderick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Paul Roderick and Helen Elvira Roderick (Mill), and his brother, Norman Hoover.

A celebration of life will be held on September 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at The Ark Church Magnolia, 14320 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Roddy’s memory to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org. Roddy's life was marked by his love for his family, his community, and his unwavering spirit of giving. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
