Hi Freda, today is Friday, December 26, 2025.

It has been seven years since you transitioned from our realm to another dimension early Christmas morning, December 25, 2018.

Regardless to whether I say you transitioned, passed, died, or other verb, you left our realm to what Shakespeare would call "the I undiscovered country from whose bourn, no traveller returns." We believe all travelers will go to a much better place.

Since you left, Jamia and I have continued to carry on as the Wilson3. Needless to say, our lives have not been the same since you left; however, we've continued to uphold your standards, ethics, ideals and your love of humanity.

To tell you about our many experiences, would require far more time than I have. I just want you to know we miss you immensely and we continue to press onward. Also, we believe in the afterlife and that we're reunite in eternity.

Rest well, dear Freda until we meet again! RIP.

Johnny & Jamia

Love and miss Aunt Freda! So many amazing memories but one favorite was when I got my dog Henry, without permission. Aunt Freda was staying with us at the time helping my mom to fill an unexpected loss of therapist in her practice. Aunt Freda literally saved my behind by falling in love with Henry and convincing my mom it was ok to keep him. Her love and laughter healed always. We miss you but are so happy to constantly celebrate your impact and the force that influenced us all.

I believe it was in 1977 when her husband Johnny graduated from Florida State and I left my job with the Abolitionist Project.   Anyway, around that time, Johnny was moving to Orangeburg for a job at S.C State where Freda was teaching and I was leaving my job at Florida State and moving back home to Henderson, NC.  We had to move three vehicles on our trek north - Johnny's Volvo, the truck with all of the furniture, and my car.   There was one problem.  Freda didn't have a driver's license.   Johnny came up with the idea of leading with the truck while Freda drove behind him in the Volvo and I would follow Freda in my car.   If she was boxed in between us, we felt she would be protected from contact with external traffic.   I was as nervous as a cat.  Freda was cool and collected as if to say, "I've got this."  Would you believe, she drove over 400 miles without incident?   This lady had no driving experience but jumped in a car and drove 400 miles through highway and city traffic.   She was an amazing person.  Those who knew her were blessed through the relationship.

R.I.P. My Dear Freda!

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle's compass come;

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me prov'd

I never writ, nor no man ever lov'd.

Shakespeare, Sonnet 116

In loving memory of our brightest star, we miss you, Mom.   We love you infinitely always and forever.
