Sorry to hear about this may u rest in peace..
I will remember Wes as a man of deep faith and the highest integrity.  In every conversation over the many years I knew him, never an ill word spoken of anyone, and always pointing toward how we could either be better as men, as officials or help others to be better. The communities he touched will always be better for him having been there.  Rest in Glorious Peace my friend.
What can I say? Wesley treated me like a little sister. I remember babysitting for Lisa and little Wesley. I remember Sharon Church having a basketball team traveling to Chicago and surrounding areas, while people were looking for rides. I knew who I was riding with. It was just a matter of what time he was picking me up. I can recall when I was about to graduate from high school and they only gave us 3 tickets for guess well at that time Wesley was working at MATC in the print shop he did a real good job those extra tickets looked just the the original. When I went out on dates, he would let my boyfriend use his vehicle. When I decided to go to Oakwood College (University), he offered to take me down there. He was the master of ceremony for my wedding. We know that he was a sharp dresser. We have this promise that God will wipe away all tears from our eyes and there will be no more death.

My condolences Wes Porter was a great mentor of mines. He was one of most who took the time out of his busy schedule to teach me how to officiate the game of basketball

Bro Wesley always had a quick, yet respectful comeback/response to some of my “shenanigans”, he knew I was a bit “touched”, lol, we had a good church sister/brother relationship; he was always so appreciative when I would send him pictures & videos of him singing with his dear brothers, The Travelers, I was always in awe of his great, unique singing voice, always reminded me of Eddie Hendrix of The Temptations….He is & will be greatly missed……My deepest sympathies, condolences & prayers for all family, loved ones, friends & church family❣️🙏🏽🕊️😔

An anonymous writer sums up my thoughts for my dear brother and friend.

“Greatly loved, deeply missed.”

I thank God that our paths crossed. He was kind, thoughtful, giving, and always willing to help where needed. It was a blessing to know him.
