Wesley's obituary

Wesley Ryan Lyerly, 45, of Gold Hill, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.

He was born September 22, 1977 in Salisbury, NC to Larry and Jane Ketchie Lyerly. Wesley stole the heart of Crystal Castor at the age of 14 and they married on October 6th, 2001.

Wesley was a 1995 graduate of East Rowan High School and attended Central Piedmont Community College. He was a master welder where he was the owner and operator of Lyerly's Welding and Fabrication, Inc. in Gold Hill. Wesley was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting on his farm in Kentucky, camping with friends , and surf fishing. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Salisbury and the Gold Hill Men's Club. Most of all, Wesley loved spending time gathering at his home with his family and friends.

With broken and heavy hearts, Wesley is survived by his parents Larry and Jane Lyerly, his loving and devoted wife, Crystal, and his daughter, Jada Ryan Lyerly which is his pride and joy. His sister, Millie Lyerly and husband Frank Noska, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chris and Niki Castor, sister-in-law, Shanna and husband Adrian Pruett and two nephews, Hudson and Ridge Pruett. “Wool” as he was known to many, leaves behind an army of faithful friends. Wesley was dedicated to his crew members, who continue to carry on his legacy at Lyerly’s Welding and Fabrication.

A Celebration of Life for Wesley will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Salisbury with Rev. Dr. Jarrod Lanning and Pastor Tonya Kesler Brittain, officiating.

The family will greet friends and relatives following the service in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Family Life Center until 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up through Everloved to honor Wesley. These contributions will be used for Jada’s college. Contributions may be made using the link: https://everloved.com/life-of… or directly to NC State Employees Credit Union, C/O Jada Lyerly, PO BOX 827, Granite Quarry, NC 28072.
