Wesley's obituary

Wesley James Howard was born on December 20, 2002 in Overland Park, KS to Justin Howard and Jennifer Nimmo. He attended school in Bullfrog, Utah, Loveland and Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated High School in Gardner, KS in 2021. He grew up with his sister Erin Howard as they shared time with both of their parents between Kansas and Colorado.

Wesley was always a young man of going places fast. Even at age 3, he took his own training wheels off his bike just so he could race the neighborhood kids. Wesley loved the outdoors and would spend his time in Colorado mountain biking, hiking, and skiing whenever he could. He would race his mom down the mountain and be so proud to take the last lift chair up the mountain for the day, knowing that he gave it his all. Wesley was also enjoyed playing baseball, football, and went on to win several championship matches in wrestling while in Colorado. Wesley had many animals at his father’s home in Gardner, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, dogs, and cats and used to fish in their pond with cheese balls when he was a little boy. He and his father could be found at the shooting range working on long range shots in his later years. While he never took much to traditional education, he was always so smart and just knew how things worked. Wesley may not have been the most talkative person you met, but once he was your friend, you knew he had your back for life and would always do his best to bring you happiness and laughter. And when he showed you that smile, Wesley’s kind heart would shine through and you knew the world was alright.

Wesley is survived by his father Justin Howard (Gardner, KS), his mother Jennifer Nimmo and her partner Kraig Sullivan (Colorado Springs, CO), his sister Erin Howard (Olathe, KS), his grandparents Walter and Dale Cruse (Gardner, KS), Rick and Bonnie Howard (Bonner Springs, KS), his grandmother Kathi Munson (Aurora, CO), and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. His family will hold a memorial for him at 11 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church, 650 East Madison Ave, Gardner, Kansas 66030

To honor Wesley’s memory his family asks that you always hold your loved ones close, and never take a moment for granted. Expressions of sympathy may be made in whichever way(s) you wish.
