My sincere condolence Steve to you and the entire family. I was saddened to hear this news. I worked with Weslei at Longs Drugs from 1982 -1984. We worked closely in the Photo Department and she taught me about cameras and electronics. We would often get together
in our off hours and hang out. I went to my very first Iditarod ceremonial start in 1983 with her and remember later that summer her participating in the Campbell Creek Classic on the Longs team. She was an amazing person and fun to be around. Her spirit was bigger than life and yes, she was always the life of the party. I remember her creativity and compassion for others. Having just arrived in Alaska, Weslei soon became one of my first friends, and later she would be a bridesmaid in my wedding (and Steve a groomsman). After the wedding my husband and I moved to Southeast Alaska. Weslei and I exchanged Christmas cards annually for years but as the years passed we lost touch. After moving back to the Anchorage area 17 years later I paid her a surprise visit to reconnect. Regretfully we did not stay in touch. Her memory will always be dear to my heart. ❤️💔
Thoughts and prayers for the entire family at this difficult time.

My condolences to Steve, Andrew and Weslei's family. I first met Weslei at DOT&PF. Both my husband and I worked with her husband Steve. She loved going to the Fur Rondy Melodrama’s together. I also hosted a few Happy Thing parties for her. Weslei was always the life of the party and loved to celebrate. I’m deeply saddened to hear of her passing.
