I was reminded of Wes's generosity and kindness when I stumbled across an Amazon review he left for one of my earlier books. I only met Wes a couple of times during conversations about a possible partnership to build a savings app for women savers in developing countries. The fact that I still remember that now, and still feel his spirit three years on, says a lot about how special he was. Rest in peace, Wes. And thank you for all you did.

Wes was not only the visionary founder of DreamStart Labs, but also a true inspiration to all of us. His idea of DreamSave transformed the lives of many in Sri Lanka, and his leadership continues to leave a lasting impact on the lives of those who had the privilege to work alongside him. His dream is still running, and a lot of people are getting support and thriving because of his idea. He was a remarkable person who always put others first and inspired us to push boundaries. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this time.

Thinking about Uncle Wes today. He was such a fine Christian man and great example to me. So thankful to the Lord that he was my Uncle. I remember some of the talks - he always had neat insight and wise things to add. I enjoyed listening to him share. His words demonstrated he really cared - both by the special insight he shared and the compassionate way he shared them. Uncle Wes was a lot of fun to play games with - great competitor and I especially loved having him on my team. :-) Praying for Aunt Heidi and Cousins Renee and Mark at this time. May God continue to comfort and bless you all - we love you! -David and the Nigh Family

To the family of a true friend, fellow-Christian and business associate-we are saddened to hear of and read about the passing of Wes. I worked with and provided HR Consultancy to Wes and his team at Citrix Systems. Blessings to all his family and friends.

I am sorry to have just learned of Wes’s passing. I worked for Wes at Netcontinuum in the early 2000s and he was an inspiration for me in my career. He was the most caring and involved mentors in my life and I owe much of my success to the learnings that I received from Wes. One of the greats.

Wes was the leader along with Carter of our Men's Group. He was always prepared for his teachings of the Bible to us, and he mixed it with the best food spread one could imagine. We are all better Christians because of Wes, and he always invited anyone to his table. His photo is pinned to my board which always reminds me of his heartwarming smile, and the human being I want to become. I miss you Wes, but you are always in my heart, soul and mind! You were brought into this world to help people like me find the true meaning of God and his son, our Savior Jesus Christ!

It was great to visit Wes and Heidi last Spring, some 30+ years since our college trip to India. Wes was the leader of 30 undergrads as well as our liaison with the India Evangelical Mission. Wes had a rare (!) combination of spiritual depth, genius, and an incredible sensitivity to people. Those unique abilities made that trip incredible for all of us. The grace he and Heidi showed Tonia and I just a year ago brought back memories of those India days; his home-going is heart wrenching, but I still remember that as we talked that evening last March, he was focused on those relationships he cared about, his family first and foremost, his colleagues, and ministries. He left such an example of a person fully committed to learning about Christ and integrating his faith with life's realities. He will be greatly missed, but he left much to learn from.

I can’t believe Wes is gone. I don’t want to believe he is gone. He was a force of nature for good, and Lord knows we need that.
I knew Wes for about 10 years. We met through our wives who worked together. Wes was a remarkable person, as many people have related. I really enjoyed raising a glass with him at our local winery, enjoying meals with him and Heidi, and occasionally playing parlor games. We were honored that Heidi and Wes joined us in France for our son’s wedding. Wes had a quick wit and sophisticated humor, which made these all these things even more fun and enjoyable.
Wes’ career in marketing sometimes spilled over into his humor. Last year, I invited Wes and some other friends to join me in removing an invasive weed, sea rocket, to improve the habitat for native wildlife. Wes quipped he was going to add this weeding to his LinkedIn profile with the following, “Disarmed and removed dangerous foreign rockets from public lands to protect local residents.”
A hallmark for me of Wes and Heidi is their generosity. They allowed us to use their beautiful home for wedding-related celebrations for two of our children. From what I understand they did this for many. They even have tables and chairs, and other necessities for hosting a party. Different members of our family have also stayed in their guest house. I’ve even stayed there when some of my relatives took over my home.
I’ve never known anyone like Wes and I doubt I ever will. I am thankful his earthly struggle is over, and sad that his family and rest of us must continue without him.
